What types of businesses benefit from Pinterest Marketing?
Pinterest is an amazing platform for all niches, but there are certain things that make some businesses a better fit than others.
I work with a wide range of businesses including coaches, course creators, Etsy shops, service-based businesses and product/e-commerce businesses. There is a place for all of these types of businesses on Pinterest! Read on for what I consider to be the “must haves” for your business to see exponential growth with Pinterest!
For service-based businesses:
WEBSITE
This is crucial. Even if you are mainly a YouTuber for example, you still want to have a landing page where people can find you and learn more about you. It is important to have your own corner of the internet that isn’t dependent on being hosted by a third party (i.e. YouTube or Podcasting platforms).
CONTENT
Pinterest is content based marketing. Each pin links back to a piece of content you have created whether that is a blog post, YouTube video or Podcast episode. By pinning to your content you are getting people off of the Pinterest platform and immersed into the wonderful world of your brand!
OPT-IN OFFER/FREEBIE
You need some kind of opt-in offer that will convert the traffic you are getting from Pinterest into subscribers on your email list. I also recommend having some kind of welcome email series set up for your new email subscribers.
For product-based businesses:
WEBSITE OR MARKETPLACE SITE
Whether you sell your products on your own website or on a third party site like Etsy, it is crucial that you have a place for pinners to find your products. Purchases from Pinterest are dependent on linking pins to shoppable products.
CONTENT
This is not required, but encouraged. Whether it is your Instagram posts, a blog or a YouTube channel it is incredibly helpful for your Pinterest reach if you are pinning some content that speaks to your ideal audience and isn't a product. For example, I have a client who sells beer-themed apparel on Etsy, but in addition to their products they have a blog about teaching people how to brew beer. This helps increase their Pinterest audience, build trust within their niche, and eventually get new customers!
